Nets Defense will Stop Phoenix

Here's how you stop Phoenix, you play Defense and you play some more Defense. Even with their new coach and slower paced style they have far to many weapons to get into a shootout against. First, I'll get this out of the way, no one at the power forward position and certainly no one on the Nets is stopping Amare, he's a beast and maybe one of the most underrated players in the league. There is no reason why he shouldn't be mentioned with the likes of Lebron, Kobe, Paul, Howard, Wade, etc.... and isn't it somewhat odd he's not? Anyway, we're not stopping him and thats that. Amare is getting his so where does that leave the others. Harris must pester and pressure Nash, end to end. Tire him out and work against his age... Nash can't defend as is and a tired Nash can't even pretend to say with Harris. Shaq is a tough call, he's not really that effective anymore on his own but his presence leaves Amare with that much more space and time. The good news is the Nets are deep with big men. They won't have to double team Shaq and force him to pass out of it because they can let him try and earn a shot and if necessary take a foul..putting him on the line. That will A). frustrate Shaq which will affect his defense and B). allow the Nets permineter defenders to stay at home with their assignments, many of whom thrive of kick-out open looks (a la Bell).
